mcptest privacy

Privacy policy

Effective May 24, 2026

This policy explains how Soap Bucket LLC ("we") handles information when you visit mcptest.sh, the marketing and documentation site for the open-source mcptest command-line tool. The mcptest software runs entirely on your own machine and does not send us any data; this policy is only about the website.

What we collect

The site has no accounts, logins, or payments, and we do not ask you to submit personal information. We collect usage data through Google Analytics 4: the pages you view, the referring link, the time and duration of a visit, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write.

Cookies and Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to understand how the site is used so we can improve the documentation. Google Analytics sets cookies (for example _ga and _ga_<id>) and a client identifier to recognize returning browsers and to compile aggregate statistics. Google processes this data on our behalf and may also use it in accordance with its own terms. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Your choices

Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for analytics cookies, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and understanding aggregate usage. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies or using the opt-out above.

How the data is shared

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We share usage data with Google as our analytics processor, and with the providers that host and serve the site. We may disclose information if required by law.

International transfers

Google and our hosting providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Those transfers rely on the safeguards offered by the respective providers.

Retention

Google Analytics retains user and event data for the period configured on our account (we use a short retention window). Aggregate, non-identifying statistics may be kept longer. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, and to data portability. California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know and to delete; we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. To exercise any right, email hello@soapbucket.com.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site changes. We will revise the effective date above when we do.
